Delightful Party in League Club Rooms TOURIST WELCOMED HOME I . Miss Thelma St. Clair Whyte, whose marriage takes place tomorrow, was the guest of honour at a jolly party given by the Victoria League Girls’ Committee in the Victoria League Rooms last evening. Miss Claire Prosser, recently returned from Englancl. was warmly welcomed home. ; The hostesses for the evening were Miss Kathleen Aickin and Miss Alar- : jorie Cerrutty, and they were assisted i in welcoming the guests by Mrs. Ric- ; kerby, president of the girls’ commit- | tee. | Vivid zinnias were attractively ar- | ranged in bbwls around the room, and a very happy evening was spent doing amusing competitiens. A competition in which five girls had to speak for two minutes each on a subject disclosed on a printed slip of paper caused a great deal of merriment. Miss Mavis -McCullough, whose impromptu remarks on the difference between the Victorian and modern maid were very entertaining, was the winner. During the evening a presentation of a picture and a bridal edition of the league’s cookery book was made to Miss Whyte. Several enjoyable items were contributed by Miss Marjorie Faire, songs; Miss Ena Langsford. pianoforte solos; and Misses Eileen Adkins and Nance ! Redstone, elocutionary items. GUEST IN BLUE GEORGETTE. Miss Thelma St. Clair Whyte was wearing a pretty blue georgette frock. Mrs. Rickerby chose jade green georgette, with floral relief; Miss Kathleen Aickin’s frilled frock was of gros grain taffeta, edged with peacock blue; and Miss Marjorie Cerrutty had $n a parchment and rose patterned ninon gown. Miss Claire Prosser was wearing a pretty frock of sea foam green geori gette. AMONG THOSE PRESENT Miss Mowbray had on a beaded black | satin gown, with a Chantilly lace wrap, j Miss Gwen Davies wore a cornflower i blue lloral taffeta frock, with deep cape I collar. , Miss Ruby Colman had chosen a frock of black georgette and tulle. Miss T. Rowntree was wearing a frock of uneven-length black crepe de chine. Miss M. Faire chose a frock of flowered taffeta. Miss de Boissiere’s frock was of lilac taffeta. Miss Moira Gulliver had on a flame frilled net frock. Miss Clarice Pragnall wore an apricot georgette frock beaded in silver. Miss Edmonds chose a peach georgette frock, witli deep satin hem. Miss Aileen Davies, wearing a gown of cameo pink georgette. Miss Louise Jourdaine had chosen a gown of oriental brocade, with deep fringed hem. Miss Phyllis Renner was frocked in periwinkle blue georgette heavily beaded. Miss Verran’s frock was of black embossed georgette. Miss E. Langsford had on a jade green georgette frock beaded in silver. Miss Reka Paterson was wearing a frock of black georgette, with sequined corsage and frilled skirt. Miss Freda Burnes chose a gown of black velvet, with beaded spray. Miss Isobel Reece was in a sea foam green georgette frock. Miss Nance Redstone wore a gown of burgundy red and black patterned ninon with taffeta bow. Miss Pattie McConnell was in a frock of black ninon. Miss Clair' Prosser chose a frock of pastel green silk net. Miss Marjorie Faire was wearing an ivory sprigged taffeta gown. Miss Nance St. C. White had on a lilac 1 rilled frock. Miss M. Bruce Hay chose an amethyst taffeta frock, with beaded corsage. Miss E. Adkins was in a beige georgette frock relieved with green. Miss M. McCullough had on ivory satin, with red shoulder flower.
