YOUNG FOLKS’ DANCE
NORTHCOTE FUNCTION I A young folks’ dance was held last j evening in the Palais Theatre, Northcote. The decorations were carried i out with multi-coloured streamers, i Excellent music was provided by the I Palais Orchestra. The Monte Carlo | cornpcl?ition was one of the novelties | provided, the winners being Mr. S. Racket and Miss Palma McFetridge. Mr. G. H'. Edwards performed the duties of M.C. Among those present were the Misses Zena Sutherland, Nellie Woodward, Palma McFetridge, D. Casey, Margaret Saunders, Margaret McKenzie, Rose Sutherland, Norma James, Phiilis Stayte. Eva Martin, Alice Robertson, Betty East. Edna Young, G. Dodd, Audrey McFetridge, Rita Mason Winnie Black, Mavis Woodward. Lula Taylor, Pat de Clair, Irene McKenzie, Beatty Stayte, Ethel Ross, Mamio Ross, Ethel Chetwynd. PERSPIRING HANDS Many girls suffer from hot. perspiring hands when dancing, which is very unpleasant. Before dressing for a dance, soak the hands in warm water to which has been added a teaspoonful of powdered borax to a washbasinful of water. Afterwards, sprinkle the palms of the hands with a very small quantity of powder made by mixing equal parts of salicyclic acid and french chalk.
