CROQUET AT HOME

PRESIDENT OF PONSONBY CLUB ENTERTAINS Mrs. Gallaher president of the Ponsonbv Croquet Club, entertained the members and honorary members on Thursday afternoon. Beautiful weather prevailed, and there was a large attendance of players. A most enjoyable afternoon was spent in progressive croquet. Crs. J. B. Paterson and Phelan were present for a short time, and congratulated the president on the excellent arrangements for the afternoon’s function. The tables were decorated in the club’s colours, heliotrope and yellow. During the afternoon a delightful afternoon tea was served. I.ie prizes for the progressive games were won by Mesdames C. E. Hardley, Oswald. Buckle, Gal, and P. Browne. On behalf of the members, Mrs. C. E. Hardley, vice-president, proposed a vote of thanks to Mrs. Gallaher for her hospitality.
