OTAHUHU TENNIS CLUB ENTERTAINS

ENJOYABLE “AT HOME” The annual At Home of the Otahphu ! Tenuis Club, held on the club’s courts yesterday afternoon, was a very enjoyable function. Visitors were present from a number of neighbouring and A series of keenly-contested progressive tennis matches was played. The successful competitors were:-—A section, Miss Burton, Mount Albert, and Miss Cutforth, Papatoetoe; B section, Mrs. Garlick, Mount Albert, and Miss Feet, Onehunga. BIRTHDAY PARTY CHILDREN SPEND HAPPY HaSE A delightful children’s party was given by Mrs. E. Jones, of St. Leonards, Grafton Road, in honour of her little daughter’s seventh birthday, at the Domain Tea Kiosk, on Thursday afternoon. The rooms were prettify decorated with coloured balloons and streamers. The little people were entertained with games and races in the grounds and a dainty tea was served. Little Alvina Jones received her guests in a pretty frilled frock of rose de bois marocain. Among those present were:—Kola and Enid Burton, Joyce and Ilona Waghorn, Patty Payne, Lois Clarke, Beryl McCullough, Doreen and Korina Hogan, Winifred Dervan, Joyce Rogers, Beverley Bailey, Leonie Blackett, Audrey McQueen.
