INTERNATIONAL CANDIDATES FOR SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP

Mrs. A. E. TVlulgan, the president, welcomed several new members to the Auckland branch of the Federation of University Women, which held its annual meeting in the college last even- . ing and was well attended. The president read the annual report and gave a brief outline of the year's activities. Hamilton bad formed a successful branch during the year. As the New Zealand candidates, for an International Science Scholarship from 1930-31, Aliss L. Cranwell, Aliss, Aloore, of the Auckland University, and Aliss Lysaght, of Victoria College, had been nominated. The following officers were elected for the coming year:—President., Rr. Buckley Turkington; vice-jvresidents, Rr. Gladys Alontgomery, Aliss Clouston; secretary, Airs. Thompson; assist-ant-secretary, Aliss C. Gray; members of the executive committee, Airs. Afulgan, Rr. Warnock, Aliss Hay. OBSTETRICAL APPEAL A brief resume was given, by Dr. Hilda Northcroft, the society’s National Council of Women representative, of this year’s work. For a further term both Rr. Northcroft and Rr. Buckley Turkington were elected to this office. An appeal for help in the Obstetrical Society’s work was given by Dr. Northcroft. Airs. Alulgan, the retiring president, received a very hearty vote of thanks.
