CAMBRIDGE DEFEATS MATANGI Fiom Our Own Correspondent CAMBRIDGE, Wednesday. This afternoon at “Gwynnelands," Cambridge, Cambridge A team and Matangi B met in a friendly polo game, and a closely contested match resulted In a win for Cambridge by 7 goals to 6. The teams were: Cambridge, A. and IV. Fisher, R. G. Blennerhassett, IT. Garland; Matangi, R. Ranstead, G. Ranstead, W. and J . Ranstead. WAIHOU DEFEATS MATANGI From Our Own Correspondent TB AROTIA, Wednesday. The match played at Te Aroha today between the Matangi A and Waih.Wpolo teams was one of the most spiritedly contested of the season, vlct t y going to- Waihou by 7 to 3. Tne Matangi players were Townsend, Chitty, Shaw and Phillips, Waihou being represented by T. Hines,-A. Me- - A. Wright and M. Burke. In the first, chukka play was of an even nature, but just before the bell rang Phillips scored. Strenuous play followed and A. McNicol scored by fast following up, and for the time being matters were equal. In the third chukka McNicol scored for the local team and Shaw evened up with a goal for Matangi. Wight led off in the fourth with a long hit, the ball striking a post. Very soon afterward, however, lie succeeded in scoring.
