SWIMMING CARNIVAL
NORTH SHORE CLUB Wliat promises to be the best swimming carnival seen in Auckland for a long time will be staged by the North Shore Amateur Swimming Club m the Tepid Baths on Tuesday next, March 4. The programme is a very varied and attractive one and is as follows; 150yds Auckland championship; 50yds ladies’ Auckland championship; 300yds inter-club relay championship ,of Auckland (nine men in team); 133 1-3 yds business houses championship relav (four men in team); 133 l-3yds rowing clubs’ championship relay (four men in team); 50yds inter ; club handicap; v 50yds novice handicap, 66 2-3yds Pasco© Cup dual relay handicap; 66 2-3yds life-saving clubs’ championship; 100yds women’s Fuller Cup handicap; 100yds breaststroke handicap; 50yds junior boys’ handicap, under 17 years; 50yds junior girls handicap, under 17 years; 33 l-3yds tinv tots girls’ handicap, under 12 years; 33 l-3yds tiny tots boys’ handicap, under 12 years; 50yds clqb championship; 50yds club backstroke championship; club diving championship: obstacle race; novelty diving competition; water polo. Entries close for all the above events at 5 p.m. on Friday, February 28. The club is holding a harbour race on Saturday, March 8. The course is from Devonport Wharf, round North Head, to Cheltenham Beach, a distance of approximately one and a-half miles, and the winner will hold the Morgan Cup for a year, together with miniature. Trophies for second and third and also a gold medal for fastest time are also put up for this swimming, marathon. Entries close for this race on Thursday, March 6.
