ADDITIONS TO PREMISES PURCHASES OF LAND Extensive additions and alterations to tho premises of the Farmers’ Trading Company are to take place in the near future. The company recently purchased the large block of land adjoining its parking area, with frontages to Hobson Street, Brunswick Street and Custorps Street West. The company lias also bought from Smith and Smith, Ltd., another block with 142 ft frontage to Wyndham Street and 108 ft to Nelson Street. The land facing Dobson Street, is now being levelled for an extension of the co/r.f pany’s parking area, which, when completed, will accommodate 160 motor-cars. On the lower portion of the newly-acquired land a modern fnrnituro factory will be erected by the company. Another important . development is the addition of four storeys to the annexe at the rear of the company’s warehouse in Wyndham Street. It is expected that this new building will be completed in May. The additional floors will enable the company to extend its drapery, hardware and furniture department, while the top storey will be used for a large extension of the tearoom. The new tearoom is being designed by Mr. Roy A. Lippincott on modern and attractive lines.
