MORRINSVILLE NOTES

A large and enthusiastic meeting of supporters of the Reform Party from all parts of the Morrinsville district was addressed by the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, leader of the party, and other M.P.’s in the Masonic Hall, Morrinsville. Mr. W. McPherson presided. In a brief speech Mr. Coates expounded the aims and objects of his party. Other M.P.’s who spoke were Messrs. C. E. Macmillan (Tauranga), A. M. Samuel (Thames) and H. G. Dickie (Patea)". Mr. D. Stewart Reid, exM.P. for "Waikato, was also present. The meeting carried a resolution affirming its confidence in the Reform Party and expressing its appreciation of Mrr Coates' as leader of the party, and pledging hiha. its wholehearted support.

The Morrinsville Swimming Club held its second club night on Thursday evening. The following are the results of the races:—Boys, 33 l-3yds, novice: K. Mueller: girls, 33 l-3yds, A. Yardley. The club membership now stands at about 75.

Word has been received by Mr. J. L. Faulkner, secretary of the Farmers’ Union, that the Remuera with the British farmers’ party will arrive in Auckland on Tuesday. Therefore, the plans as scheduled will be adhered to, and the party will visit the Morrinsville Horticultural Show on Wednesday. i
