! 13TH COAST BATTERY ENTERTAINMENT AT DEVONPORT ANNUAL FUNCTION Artillery uniforms provided a bright splash of colour against a background of bunting at the Devonport Parish Hall on Saturday evening. occasion was that of the annual dance given by the officers, noncommissioned officers and men of the 13th Battery, New Zealand Artillery, now in camp at Fort Cautlej-. North Head. Music was supplied by the Hit Cat Band and Lieutenant Yates was M.C. Supper arrangements were in the hands of Mesdames Power and Shand, to whom much credit for the success of the function is due. The dance was under the patronage of Major and Mrs. Miles, O.C. battery. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Miss Evelyn Bentley and Mr. Graham. Among those present were: Mrs. Miles, who wore a frock of black georgette, with bead trimmings and a floral shawl to tone; Mrs. Power, crepe de chine and lace; Mrs. Shand, navy blue georgette with scarlet shoulder posy; Mrs. Burden, blue beaded georgette; Miss K. Bainbridge, sky blue georgette with a petalled skirt; Miss G. Freebairn, mauve satin beaded, frock; Miss M. Bainoridge, ankle-length shell pink georgette frock; Miss Evelyn Bentley, floral ninon with uneven hemline; Miss A. M. Inglis, frock of apricot georgette, with ankle-pointed skirt; Miss Lamont, pale pink georgette with uneven hem; Miss Hotchkiss, green chenille georgette with uneven hem; Miss Rona Middleditch, blue velvet with diamente trimming. Miss Joyce A. Ividd was in a frock of gold satin and shawl to tone; Miss J. Gooding, almond green floral chiffon with uneven hemline; Miss X. Beesley, white georgette and silver; Miss Nancy Power pink crepe de chine: Miss O. Milburn, blue crepe de chine dipping at the back, with cape collar; Miss L. Whitfield, blue velvet and georgette; Miss L. Casbolt, pink georgette with uneven hemline; Miss C. White, sea green crepe de chine and silver lame; Miss M. Casbolt, flame tulle with uneven hemline; Miss H. Hustler, saxe blue crepe de chine with trimmings to tone: Miss Jackson, red crepe de chine with uneven hemline; Miss E. Bush, green embossed georgette with uneven liem.

Miss K. Temm, scarlet georgette with uneven hemline; Miss C. Mariana, floral crepe de chine; Miss J. Hayson, apricot georgette with silver posy; Miss M. Drake, black satin, red posy; Miss B. Gladding, lime ninon, with uneven hemline; Miss M. Greene, white georgette with uneven hemline; Miss C. Lawrence, powder blue georgette and diamente; Miss M. Edwards, blue georgette with uneven hemline.
