GRAND CLASSICAL CONCERT

PUCCINI CHOIR AND ARTILLERY BAND An exceptionally fine programme of classical and operatice music will be presented, by the Artillery Band, supported by Signor Costantini and the Puccini Musical Society, in the Town Hall next Thursday evening. The programme includes most of the greatest selections from the operas, sung by the Puccini Musical Societ}’, the society’s soloists, and assisted by well-known Auckland artists. The operas from which selections will be taken include “Carmen,” “Lucia di Lammermoor,” “Rigoletto,” “‘Faust” (Gounod), and “La Farza del Destina” (Verdi). The Puccini Choir will sing “Funiculi Funicula” on this the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the composition.
