LEAVING AUCKLAND

MANAGER OF GRAND HOTEL GOING SOUTH POSITION IN WELLINGTON -Mi'. G. H. Bassant, who has been manager of the Grand Hotel for the past four years and three months, has resigned his position and will leave the hotel at the end of this month. He has taken a lease of the new Majestic Hotel in Wellington, which is in the .course of construction. . Mr. Bassant arrived in Auckland from the Hotel Cecil in London, where he was assistant-manager. Before that he was with several Continental hotels. * A successor to Mr. Bassant has not yet been appointed.
