ROTORUA TOPICS
A big class answered the first roll call at the girl’s gymnasium now in use in Rotorua. Miss V. Lowrie gave instruction in physical culture and later the girls made use of the apparatus provided by the Rotary Club. Messrs. Baker and Wilson, visitors staying at the Grand Hotel, fishing from Lake Tarawera, took half a dozen fine trout, weighing up to 7ilb. ■The motor camp is still very popular, and family parties continue to arrive. The Wairoa Road, in course of reconstruction, has suffered from the heavy falls of rain, but the contractors are persevering, and on completion of a few more chains will have reached the Okareka loop road, through which traffic to Tarawera will be diverted, thus allowing further work on the main road to be done. This detour provides a wonderful view of Lake Okareka, and the bush country between that lake and the Blue and Green ; Lakes.
