AUSTRALIAN’S SUCCESS
LEYLAND HODGSON IN TALKIES Apparently Leyland Hodgson has landed right side up in Hollywood. One of the most popular of modern musical comedy leads, he found his opportunities somewhat infrequent in Australia of late, and therefore decided to try his luck in America. Shortly after arrival, he was snapped up by a producer, and is in the cast of “The Case of Sergeant Grischa.” which will eventually be distributed in Australia by RKO. Hodgson is described as an Australian and as he has been in that country long enough to assimilate much of its mannerisms and speech, there is nothing to indicate otherwise. DANCING AT DIXIELAND Dixieland Qabaret will be the scene of a big spectacular Anniversary Ball this evening. The latest and brightest musical selections will be played by the Dixieland Dance Band, the floor is in perfect condition, and every arrangement is being made for the comfort and enjoyment of dancers.
