“THE FLYING MARINE” A flying picture that is distinctly different is to he presented at the Boxy Theatre this evening in the talkie, “The Flying Marine.” When Steve Moran (Ben Lyon) is honourably discharged from the Marines and arrives at his brother’s airport, he at once starts to rush Molly, a childhood friend who has grown into a beautiful woman during his absence. Mitch, who is secretly in love with Molly, stands aside for his young brother’s happiness. Molly (Shirley Mason) more in loye with love than with Steve, is carried away by his enthusiasm., and his passionate love-making. On Sunday, Mitch’s busiest day, Steve takes the much-needed plan© and flies off with Molly. They land in e. beautiful orchard. Steve, forgetting about Mitch, spends a greater part of the day making ardent love to Molly. Conscience-stricken they start for home. As Steve approaches the airport he performs some spectacular stunts which alarm Mitch and attract the attention of a movie director, who later uses Steve as a stunt flyer. When they land Steve gaily tells Mitch of his engagement to Molly. At that moment Molly discovers that Mitch is in love with her, and she begins to question her true feelings toward Steve. Molly is convinced it is Mitch she loves when Steve pawns her engagement ring to pay racing debts. She and Mitch decide to tell Steve of her mistake. But Steve is badly injured, and his hearing is affected, when his airplane crashes while doing sornG sunt flying for the movies. Molly realises that any bad news will prevent his recovery. It is only Molly’s presumed love that pulls Steve through. She and Mitch decide to sacrifice their love for Steve’s sake. Several enjoyable talking and singing featurettes will also be presented. The second big talkie attraction is “The Spider,” starring a notable cast in Renee Adoree, Alan Hale, Fred Kohler and Clyde Cook.
