CAUGHT IN BUSH FIRES

ONE MAN KILLED; OTHERS BADLY BURNED DISTRICT RAVAGED Reed. Noon. PERTH, Today. Two bush fires at Northam, several miles apart, worked toward each other, doing a large amount of damage. Three men who were trying to extinguish a blazing haystack were trapped, but managed to reach a stone heap, where all were overcome. One died subsequently. The other two were badly burned. Five hundred men are fighting tho flames at Yoruanning and Narrogin districts, where tho heat is intense, reaching 114 in the shade.
