SUPPORT FROM LONDON
JOURNALISTS’ PRIVILEGE IN QUESTION IN SHADOW OF GAOL LONDON, Monday. In connection with the threatened imprisonment of two Johannesburg journalists for refusing to disclose confidential information to the police, the London District Institute of Journalists has cabled to the South African Society. The message supports the society’s protest against the attempt to compel the two journalists to break the long established maxim that confidences reposed in members of the profession must not be betrayed.
