A GREAT SPEEDWAY
“WIZARD” SMITH INSPECTS NINETY-MILE BEACH CONFIDENT OF SUCCESS Special to THE SUN KAITAIA, Tuesday. “I can see in this beach one of the finest in the world. Muriwai cannot be compared with it, and with such a great speedway, I feel confident that I will lower both the one and two miles records.” These were the remarks of Mr. Norman “Wizard” Smith, after inspecting the Ninety-Mile Beach, in company with officials of the Kaitaia Aero Club and Automobile Racing Club. The beach was inspected as far as Mangonui Bluff. Mr. Smith, accompanied by Mrs. Smith, Dr. and Mrs. King, Mr. Dot Harkness and Mr. Mpstyn, all of Sydney, and Mr. Nattrass, of Auckland, arrived here by road on Sunday afternoon.
The “Wizard’s” car, “Anzac,” arrived in Kaitaia by motor-truck last evening, having been transported from Otiria.
