RACES POSTPONED

EVENTS ON CINDERS WESTERN SPRINGS MEETING The motor-cycle race meeting to V*r Vo r been held on the cinder track at Western bprings this evening has been postponed until Monday on account of wet weather. The track itself is well drained and is in good order, but the management of Auckland Speedways. Ltd., consider that, even should the rain clear later in the afternoon, the seats would be too wet for spectators to watch the racing in comfort. It is hoped to run the full programme arranged for tonight on Monday. Wally Kilminster, the Wellington star, who is in Auckland to d«fend his title over four laps against tne two Auckland speedsters, Bill Herbert and Alf Mattson, will have to return to ride at the Kilbirnie Stadium by Saturday next, and will be unable to appear here at all this season unless the wather permits a meeting this week. . However, the four Australians, Lionel van Praag - , Billy Sticpewich, Les Lawrence and Harry Mangham, will be available for the next races and should give good exhibitions against Auckland’s best broadsiders. will be no race for improvers at this meeting.
