HOLIDAY CAMP
CHILDREN AT PORT WAIKATO
From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Friday
Forty-five Hamilton boys went into camp for a fortnight at Camp Fersusson, Okete Falls, near Raglan, yesterday. The camp, which is situated in ideal surroundings with facilities for boating, fishing, tramping and bathing, is under the control of the Y.M.C.A., and is held annually. Over 200 children whose parents In most cases are unable to give them a holiday are expected to leave for another camp at Port Waikato on January 7, where preparations are now in hand. This camp, which is run by the AVaikato Children’s Camp League, is supported by Hamilton residents who have again responded well to the appeal for assistance this year. The river steamer Manuwai will leave Hamilton for’the camp site on Tuesday week, picking up passengers at Ngaruawahia and Huntly. Several improvements have been provided at Port Waikato this year .and the children are assured of a splendid holiday under the best conditions.
