WITNESSES IN LIBEL ACTION ARRIVALS ON TOFUA Three chiefs from the mandated territory of Western Samoa arrived in Auckland by the Tofua last evening. They are Chiefs Afamasaga, Ainuii and Asiata, who have been brought to Auckland to act as witnesses in. the libel action-; —the Hon. O. F. Nelson versus the “New Zealand Herald” which is to be heard in February. The chiefs will give evidence in support of the defendants. When the Tofua arrived in the stream yesterday afternoon, she was met by a launch and as soon as the chiefs had been passed by the doctor and customs they were taken ashore at Devonport. During their stay in Auckland the chiefs are the guests of Mr. J. D. Whitcombe, of Devonport.
