CHASE AFTER THIEF

MAN FOUND IN HOTEL BANKNOTES OVERLOOKED From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Today. Awakened, at 5.30 yesterday morning by strange sounds, Mr. T. Mullin, who occupies a room in Hotel Brighton, observed a man going through the pockets in his clothing at the end of the bed. It was broad daylight at the time and Mr. Mullin immediately leaped out of bed and pursued the intruder down the stairs and out of the house. The chase continued over fences and paddocks, but unfortunately the thief had too great a start and made his escape. Nothing was stolen. Mr. Mullin had a roll of banknotes in one pocket, which the burglar missed.
