FATHER SAVES CHILD IN VAIN BOTH HIS SONS PERISH Reed. 10 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. A tragic affair occurred at Kempsey. Mr. W. Mainey’s two sons, aged ten and seven, got into difficulties while paddling in the Macleay River. The father dashed to the rescue, brought one child out, and placed him on a sandbank. He then returned for the second. He was unable to And him, however, and upon coming back lor the first boy, he found that he had been washed into deep water again and drowned. Both bodies were recovered.
