CHINESE GARDENER DEPORTED Arrested while working in a market garden at Takapuna, Chung Jang, a Chinese, aged 40, was fined £25 at the Police Court this morning for staying in New Zealand longer than the terms of his temporary Immigration permit allowed. Mr. J. Mclntosh, Collector of Customs, said that Jang was two years over his time. He had been working in Takapuna, which was also a breach of his permit.

Default of the fine was fixed at two months’ Imprisonment and a deportation order was made.
