POOR CHILDREN ENTERTAINED Children who would otherwise not . have known the joys of Christmas were presented with sifts nt St. Matthew’s Church hall last evening:. A large Christmas tree was graiiy decked ; and there were 300 parcels which were given to the little ones by Santa Claus, j assisted by the Rev. Jasper Calder and Canon C. IT. Grant Cowen. Before the distribution a children’s concert was given and Mr. Norman ! Tate gave an exhibition of juggling ! which delighted the children. The en- j tertainment was arranged by the ‘ Auckland City Mission and St. Mar- \ thew’s Church.
