HUTCHISON “BEREFT OF THOSE QUALITIES" “W e are told by a member of the | council that these firms which are supposed to be hard put to it to make money are willing to go on being hard put at a higher rental for a further 21 years, said Cr. J. R. Lundon, at last evening’s meeting of the City j Council. I-Ie was talking 'about City Market ] lease renewals. ‘’The member who ] tells us what he has said, seems to have been bereft of those qualities on j which he was elected to the council. ” j Cr. G. W. Hutchison at once ap- ! pealed to the chair. “I ask whether j Cr. Lundon may use the words, ‘bereft i of those qualities.* " Cr. Lundon: I said “seems to have i been bereft.” Mr. G. Baildon (to Cr. Lundon): ij suggest you keep off personalities. ! Cr. Hutchison (determinedly): As far as I am concerned I will not submit [ to words that Cr.
