NOT ELIGIBLE

ASPIRANT FOR TRANSPORT VACANCY WITHDRAWS FROM LISTS Discovering that he did not possess the residential qualifications for candidature in the forthcoming Transport Board poll, Mr. Andrew Cathey, who was nominated yesterday shortly before nominations closed, withdrew his name from the lists. There are now three candidates. They are Messrs. R. G. Clark, E. Morton and G. E. Tansley. Mr. Cathey, who is a resident of Mount Albert, and therefore an elector of the No. 2 Transport District, whereas the election is confined to electors of the No. 3 area, called on the Transport Board’s returning officer, Mr. W. St. J. Clarke, and secured his withdrawal on finding his mistake.
