OLD FIREMAN HONOURED
FUNCTION AT CNEHUNGA The Onehunga Fire Brigade honoured one of iis oldest members last evening by celebrating his election as a life member. Mr. W. C. Hill joined the brigade 25 years ago, when it was first established under the control of the Borough Council, and is now one of the council’s representatives on the Fire Board. In recognition cf his services he was last evening invested with the honorary life member’s medal by Mr. W. C. Kemble, chairman of the Fire Board. Among those preesnt were Sir Frederic Lang, M.L.C., and Mr. W. J. Jordan, M.P. for Manukau. Numerous toasts were honoured, interspersed with musical items by Messrs. K. Raynes, J. Watson, L. Bickerton, B. Watson, T. Cooper, J. McMinn, J. Calvert and A. McSkimming. Mr. W. Purcell was accompanist.
