NORTHCOTE BOROUGH COUNCIL

The ordinary meeting of the Nortlicote Borough Council was held last evening, the Mayor, Mr. A. E. Greenslade, presiding. Cr. Taylor was appointed the council’s representative on the special licensing authority for the No. 2 Motoromnibus Traffic District, which supersedes the Devonport Borough Council. It was decided to co-operate with the Birkenhead Borough Council in placing before the Postmaster-General the telephone needs of both boroughs. The Northcote Fire Brigade’s services will be available to the Birkenhead Borough Council on the terms as at present in force, till the formation of the fire brigade in the latter borough is completed. It was decided to forward a donation of two guineas to the Returned Soldiers’ Association toward the roll of honour. The council decided to convey its heartiest congratulations and best wishes for his future success to Mr. P. C. Minns, 8.A., on his selection as a Rhodes scholar. Mr. Minns is a Northcote resident.
