LAWN TENNIS-

CLUB AT NEW LYNN A meeting was held in St- Andrew’s Hall, New Lynn, last evening, to consider a proposal by Mr. T. Clark, in offering four tennis courts, with the object of forming a tennis club in New Lynn. Mr. F. W. Griffiths appeared for Mr. Clark, and Mr. F. Clive Ellis presided. Mr. Clark said the courts in question were situated on the golf links, and were seldom used. The courts were grass, and among the finest to be found in the City. Mr. Griffiths said it should he possible to get between CO and 100 players. Mr. Ellis thought that an opportunity of joining a tennis club at a cost of 15s was unique. His membership usually cost about £3 10s. After much dicussion Mr. Stanley George was appointed secretary pro tem, and members who were present were appointed a committee pro tem. An invitation is to be extended to everyone who wishes to become a member of the club to meet next Saturday. December 21. on the tennis courts, at the golf links, New Lynn.
