ENGLISH MARKET FIRM Owing principally to the fact that ' farmers are rearing a large number 1 of calves this year, there has been a falling off in the number of pigs reared, according to the monthly review of the New Zealand Pig Marketing Association, Ltd. The .English market for pork, states the report, is very firm, and gives every indication of holding; the local market is easier. During-the month a considerable number of pigs have been shipped for export. The present advance made to suppliers is as follow: Prime porkers, 60 to 1101 b. 4id; prime baconers. 111 to 1801 b, heavy baconers, 1811 b and over, 3d; choppers, 2d. The first pool of the new season, embracing all pigs supplied during July and August, is now finalised. and cheques for final bonus on this pool sohukl be in supplier’s hands within the next week or ten days.
