Merchants report receipt of oversea: cables as follow:
Kelliher and Co., Ltd., from Whiteley Muir and Co., Ltd., London, dated, December 14:—•’Butter, market weak, 162 sto 1645. Cheese, coloured, S6s to SBs: white, 87s to S9s.” The Bank of New Zealand has received the following advice from its London office as at the close of business last week:—"Butter, quiet; 164s*Cheese, dull; white, BSs to S9s; coloured. 87s.’* Leonard and Son, Ltd., from A. C. Tlowson. London:—"Butter: Market depressed, small demand, but believe approaching bottom, anticipate reaction just before or soon after Christmas; 160 s to 1645; few extra choice grades asking 1665. Cheese: Deliveries This week. New Zealand 17.089 crates; • anadian, 15.064 boxes. Stock, New Zealand, 36,523 crates; Canadian, ‘-’•'3.267 boxes. Coloured. 80s to SSs; white. SSs to 89s. Market dull. Our < anadian agents advise, ‘No demand for f " I*, purchases; consignment stocks of butter at Halifax and Vancouver depressing market.’ ”
