QUEEN ALEXANDRA

MEMORIAL IN COPENHAGEN CHURCH LONDON, Sunday. An alabaster portrait medallion by Sir Bertram Mackennal, based on studies executed in the Queen’s lifetime, is the centrepiece in a memorial to Queen Alexandra, erected in St. Alban’s Church, Copenhagen. The medallion is backed with stained-glass window's, featuring roses, the allusion being to Rose Day, which Queen Alexandra introduced to assist hospitals. The design also includes a picture of Saint Elizabeth of Hungary, who devoted her widowhood to the service of the poor.
