NORTH SHORE GUIDES

GARDEN PARTY AND FETE SUCCESSFUL AFTERNOON A pre-Christmas effort, to supplement the funds of the North Shore Girl Guides Company, was made on Saturday afternoon, Avhen a garden party was arranged in the grounds at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. D. Clark, Ascot Avenue, Devonport. The lawn was ornamented with a largo Christmas tree and its "fruit” Avas eagerly sought by the tiny tots among the visitors. The stalls were placed advantageously about the perimeter o fthe lawn. A jumble stall, selling sweets, was in charge of Mrs. Stevenson and Guides; the Christmas tree was supervised by Mrs. Lee, Mrs. Robins, and Mrs. Bray. Afternoon tea Avas controlled by Mrs. W. P. Taylor, Mrs Ryan and Mrs. Clark. Clock golf and competitions were in charge of Mrs. Beaumont and Mrs. Gooding. The afternoon was very successful and enjoyable.
