A PLEASING EFFORT
IUARLY yesterday morning Evelyn Locanda (W, Nightingale) and Benefice (K. Morrison) were associated in a 12-furlong bout. The former led cut and was a length and a-half clear of Benefice with a circuit covered. The latter moved up and the pair commenced to race from the half-mile disc. in the straight Benefice got slightly to the front, but Evelyn Locanda, finishing strongly, was on terms at the post. The final four furlongs were cut cut in 67, and both pacers finished well.
