CUP CANDIDATE

\ T Epsom yesterday Gold Jacket (L. McMahon) and Torpedo Huon (J. McMahon), local Cup candidates, were given a solid workout over 12 furlongs. Taking a slight lead at the start, Torpedo Huon reached the half-mile station in 1.12 3-5 and with Gold Jacket on his heels arrived at the mile pest in 2.20 4-5. With another two furlongs covered Gold Jacket ranged up beside his stable mate and held him safe at the finish of the task, which occupied 3.27 for the full journey.
