Suburban Games

Green Lane —Harbour Board Clash

PROSPECTS FOR TOMORROW

NOW leading on the competition ladder by one point, Green Lane’s meeting with last season’s champions, Harbour Board, will invest the third series of Suburban matches commencing tomorrow with more than usual interest. The game is likely to produce some high-class batting and it is on this score the issue will probably be decided. Performances so far this season indicate that Harbour Board still possesses one of the strongest batting sides in the competition.

The heavy rain that has fallen during the past few days will probably have affected the wickets, but more so the outfields which were inclined to heaviness even last Saturday. The principal game is expected to resolve into a contest between the batting of Harbour Board and the bowling of Green Lane, which seems to be stronger in this department of the game, though it possesses several good individual batsmen. A keen contest may be expected of Ellerslie ar.d Albion, the new team having shown promising form in the first two games, and with Wright and Gedye in anything like good batting form should make quite a good showing. Ponsonby and W.Y.M.I. are two well - matched teams, and some bright cricket should also be seen in this game. Senior A Grade Harbour Board.—Breese. Martin, Dunning, Turner, Badeley.
