RECEPTION AT HAMILTON TODAY
MEMORIALS UNVEILED From Our Own Correspondent HAMILTON, Today. A public farewell Is being given to the Governor-General, Sir CharlesFergusson and Lady Alice Fergusson at Hamilton this afternoon. During the morning the Vice-Regal party was escorted by the Mayor, Mr. J. R. Fow, over the Ruakura State Farm, later visiting the Waikato Hospital his Excellency being the guest of the Rotary Club at luncheon. The farewel ceremony is being staged in the Memorial Park.
This evening liis Excellency is to be the guest of the Returned Soldiers’ Association at a smoke concert, and Lady Alice Fergusson will be entertained by representative women’s organisations. Two memorials in the Pukekohe East Presbyterian Church were unveiled by Sir Charles Fergusson yesterday. One memorial was to Europeans and the other to the Maoris who fell in the battle there on September 14, 1863 .
