INCREASE OF ARRIVALS AT AUCKLAND FIGURES FOR THE MONTH Dast month an appreciable increase was shown in the number of overseas arrivals to Auckland. The figures supplied by the Customs shipping office show that the 1 totals were larger than last month, due , possibly to the oncoming summer season. A more satisfactory comparison is obtained from the figures ior November, 1928, which are considerably lower than for the same period this year. The number of departures from Auckland in these months were materially the same. Following are detailed comparative figures: NOVEMBER, 1929 Arrivals. —876 men, 779 women, S 4 boys, and 79 girls. Departures.—4s9 men, 354 women, 34 boys, and 41 girls. OCTOBER, 1929 Arrivals.’ —836 men, 658 women, 58 boys, and 54 girls. Departures.—393 men, 334 women, 29 boys, and 20 girls. NOVEMBER, 1928 Arrivals. —749 men, 656 women, 56 boys, and 63 girls. Departures.—4Bo men, 349 women, 55 boys, and 48 girls.
