MASTERS’ ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL SMOKE CONCERT The annual smoke concert of the Auckland Public Schools Assistant Masters’ Association was held in the club rooms in Belgium Street last evening. The president, Mr. W. D. Hughes, presided over a large attendance of members and guests. A silent tribute to the memory of the late Mr. H. Moon, a past president of the association, was paid by members. Toasts honoured were:—“The Education Board,” responded to by Mr. A. Burns, president of the Auckland Education Board; “The Inspectorate,” Mr. G. H. Plummer, LL.B.; “New Zealand Educational Institute,” Mr. J. Armstrong; and “Sports Bodies,” Mr. H. Frost. Among the guest§ were Messrs. A. Burns, G. H. Plummer, A. Finch, J. Armstrong, A. J. C. Hall and F. A. Garry. Those who contributed to the success of the evening were:—Messrs. James Thompson, Woods, Moffitt and Bree, vocalists; D. Flood, and Bush, elocutionists; and Mr. Morris, conjurer*
