POLICE CHANGES
PRESENTATIONS MADE Members of the Auckland police force who are retiring or tinder notice of transfer, were batje farewell at the city station last evening. Inspector J. W. Hollis presided, and made presentations on behalf of the force to the guests of the evening. Sergeant F. Hammond, who is retiring after 31 years’ service, was presented with a silver tea set and a case of pipes. Sergeant Hammond has served with the Auckland stations since 1913. and for the last two years has been stationed at Ponsonby. Constable E. Buckley, who has been transferred to Ivaitaia, was presented with a clock find a bangle for his wife. Constable Buckley, who lias acted- as court orderly for three years, has been in Auckland seven years. Under notice of transfer to Hamilton, Constable E. Dunn, who has been three years in Auckland, was presented with a travelling rug and a wallet.
