ALLOWANCE FOR PHTHISIS SUFFERERS CLAUSE IN FINANCE BILL THE SUN’S Parliamentary Reporter PARLIAMENT BLDGS., Today. An announcement of the Minister of Mines, the Hon. W. A. Veitch, regarding the extension of pension provisions to miners suffering from miners’ phthisis is contained in the Finance Bill. Unmarried men are to receive 25s weekly and married men 255, increased by 10s weekly for the wife and 10s for each child. In the case of a widower the pension is to be 25s weekly increased by 10s weekly for each child. This allowance is subject to reduction by £1 for every complete £ of actual annual income, except a pension in excess of £lO4. The maximum pension is to be £4 5s week.
