RELIEF WORKER KILLED
STONE HURLED BY BLAST ROAD-MAKING TRAGEDY Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday. An unemployed relief worker. Henry Tucker, engaged by the Public Works Department on a new road between Gebbie's Pass and Kennedy’s Bush, was killed today as a result of a blasting accident. A number of shots were being fired when Tucker was struck on the head by a piece of stone and killed instantly. A similar accident occurred on the same road on August 17, when another member of the gang was killed in almost similar circumstances.
