Kowhai Old Pupils Hold Annual Dance
Successful Evening PALMS DECORATE HALL The Lewis Eady Hall presented a gay appearance on Thursday evening, when the Kowhai Junior High School o.d pupils held their first annual dance. COME very charming frocks were to be seen, the colourful effect being enhanced by the brilliance of the spotlights, which were thrown upon the dancers. The only decorations were tall, graceful palms, which made a pretty setting for the of colour. The Pirate Shippe Band supplied excellent music, which was much appreciated. Among those present were: •^£ rs ' who wore black satin, uneven hemline; Miss Anderson, chiffon frock of pale shell pink; Miss Read, black ring velvet frock; Mrs. 11. -Bmstead, georgette in cedar rose, with gold sequined embroidery; Miss P’raser, Chinese red crepe de chine; Miss Joy Blnstfead, primrose taffeta and gold lace; Miss Evelyn de Luya, geranium red georgette and silver lace; Miss Jean Chappell, taffeta frock of periwinkle blue and gold; Miss Lesley Eccles, pastel green tafteta, with uneven hemline; Miss Dorothy Eccles, apple green embossed chenille georgette; Miss Munro, georgette in jade green; Miss M. M. Johnston, crepe de chine in pale shell pink: Miss Webb, rose crepe de chine, relieved with Sold; Miss M. Brooker, pastel pink crene de chine frock, with uneven hem; Miss F. J. Taylor, black satin frock, with yellow and gold wrap; Miss Meek, ivory crepe de chine frock; Miss R. Murray, almond green frilled georgette; Miss Robins, delphinium blue georgette, with silver motifs; Miss E. Buchanan, cherry georgette and silver lace; Miss E Freeman frock of figured taffeta; Miss Dorothy Gladding, pompadour pink taf*v*a ifr ’ AU Gladding, embossed chenille georgette in lacquer red; Miss “•.
