BIRTHDAY PARTY
BRIGHT COMING-OF-AGE CELEBRATION An evening was given at the Geisha Rooms, Dominion Road terminus, on Saturday last, by Mr. and Airs. French, bf Mount Roskill, on the occasion of the coming-of-age of their daughter, Jessie, who was the recipient of many pYejJy and Useful presents. Musical items, dancing and games were indulged in by a lai*ge number of friends, and a most enjoyable evening was spent. Mrs. French received her guests attired in a gown of mauve and grey crepe de chine, with uneven hem. anil wrap to match, while -‘■’Miss Jessie French was wearing a pretty frock of maize crepe de chine with gold reliefs. The Geisha hall had been delightfully decorated for the occasion with bright streamers and spring flowers, and during the evening a musical programme was given which was much enjoyed by all present. Those contributing were:—Miss Jessie French. Miss Winnie Cooper and Miss Lambert. Humour was supplied by Mr. Cooper and Air. Sharpies, Aliss Lambert winning the competition prize. Among those present were: Air. and Airs. T. Sharpies, Mr. and Airs. G. Sharpies, ATiss Phyllis Sharpies, Air and Airs. H. Wood, Airs. Fraer, Air. and Airs. 'Warnock, Air. and Mrs. Berryman, Air. ana ATrs. Smith, Airs. Clark, Airs. Sanby, Aliss Redfern, Air. and Afisc Cooper, Alis/s Johns, Aliss Webb, Miss Woods, Alessrs, Sharpies, F. Fraer, R. Fraer, Sells, Campbell and Johns.
