OLD DANCES REVIVED
DEVONPORT RESIDENTS HOLD BRIGHT EVENING
GOING BACK A DECADE
Old-time dancing' lias been revived by the North Devonport Residents’ and Ratepayers’ Association, and on Saturday night members and friends spent a merry evening with a full programme of the dances in favour a decade ago, including the maxina. The committee in charge of the arrangements was:—Miss S. Stevens (secretary), Mrs. Parry, Mrs. Treiiwitli, Mrs. Ewington, Mrs. Morgan, Mrs. Clark, Miss J. Stevens, Miss M. Morgan, Mr. Ewington, and Messrs. Clark and Knowles as M.C.’s. Bartley’s Orchestra, an old-time favourite, controlled the music. Among those present were: Mrs. Buckley, who wore flame crepe de chine; Mrs. Osbaldiston, navy blue crepe de chine; Mrs. Beasley, floral georgette; Mrs. F. Bartley, black ring velvet with white toning; Mrs. Bartley, senior, nut brown silk; Mrs. It. Mouatt, rose pink frock; Mrs. J. Hunt, wine crepe de chine; Mrs. M. McComb, black lace trock; Mrs. J. Hall, lime beaded georgette, gold shaded oriental shawl; Mrs. Ivil, green beaded georgette; Mrs. Gray, larkspur frilled georgette; Mrs. P. Blenkarne, peach taffeta with lace, black figured shawl; Mrs. L. Ford, shell-pink georgette with uneven hem; Mrs. Kitchingman, nile green net overdress and silk: Mrs. Paterson, navy silk and posy. Mrs. Black was in mushroom charmeuse; Mrs. Barrett, floral ninon; Mrs. Newman, black and ivory crepe de chine; Mrs. Budgeon, henna georgette over satin; Miss E. Blakely, black satin and lace; Miss B. Hunt, black organdie muslin; Miss C. King, amethyst taffeta and wrap; Miss T. Agate, apricot crepe de chine with silver lace; *Aliss O. King, lotus pink georgette: Miss Sybil Kitchingman, saxe blue crepe de chine; Miss Margaret Paterson, ivory silk, pink posy: Miss E. McKenzie, black georgette and diamente trimming.
