NEW GERMAN CRUISER
KONIGSBERG IS THE LAST WORD SHIP COST £2,100,000 LONDON, Monday. The “Daily Telegraph’s” naval correspondent discloses the fact that Germany, in addition to having a “pocket” battleship, also possesses the last word in cruisers. She has, he says, the Konigsberg, of 6,000 tons, built with a speed of 34 knots. This cruiser carries nine Gin guns with a range of Hi miles, 12 torpedotubes and a mine-laying plant. She cost £2,100,000, which is far more than Britain’s 10,000-ton cruisers.
Three sister ships of the Konigs berg are being built.
