PLUNKET SOCIETY

DEVONPORT BRANCH An energetic committee under the presidency of Mrs. E. G. Whitley is busy at Devonport raising funds to put the Plunket Society branch in that suburb on a proper financial footing. The first of a series of entertainments was a success on Saturday, a jumble sale in the Masonic Hall. The stallholders were:—Jumble, Mrs. King, Mrs. Eyre, Mrs Angove, Mrs. Gentles, Mrs. Stretton, Mrs. Vaile, Mrs. H. Duder, Mrs. O. Carter; afternoon tea, Mrs. Crawford, Mrs. Bennett, and helpers; cakes and sweets, Mrs. Clark-Walker, Mrs. Little, Mrs. Hay, and Mrs. Beck; produce stall, Mrs. Palairet, Mrs. Bobin, and Miss Graham. The Devonport Amateur Dramatic Society is to stage a comedy, “The Chinese Puzzle,” and a farce, “Legacy,” for the society.
