WEEKLY DANCE
Akarana Yacht Club SUCCESSFUL EVENING The Akarana Yacht Club held a jolly dance at the clubhouse on Saturday, when many members and guests were present. The hall had been effectively decorated with streamers in bright colours, and novelties were distributed among the dancers during the evening. Excellent music was provided by Stacey’s Revellers. Members of the committee who were present included:— Mrs. F. McKay, who wore fawn crepe de chine. Mrs. F. Jeffers, beige and navy crepe de chine. Mrs. G. Miller, cyclamen georgette. Mrs. E. B. Webster, frock of ecru lace and georgette. Miss Ratcliffe, blue embossed chenille frock. Members and friends attending were: Miss G. Vercoe, turquoise blue crepe de chine, with uneven hem; Miss M. Cocker (Te Awamutu), lemon taffeta and tulle; Miss D. Lafferty (Hamilton), moonlight blue taffeta; Miss Baxter, blue taffeta and lace; Miss Dobbs, rose pink satin and lace; Miss P. Hayson, ivory satin, with ankle-length skirt of silver lace; Miss D. O’Connell, green ring velvet; Miss T. Dyer, shell pink georgette and silver lace; Miss E. McGill, green crepe de chine georgette; Miss W. Jeffers, apricot taffeta; Mrs. T. Boswell, embossed chenille and diamente; Miss E. Boswell, cyclamen georgette and lame; Miss J. Miller, pearl grey georgette; Miss M. McKenzie, green crepe de chine, with uneven hem; Miss P. Allen, coral georgette and satin. Miss P. Nealis was in shrimp pink crepe de chine, with diamente; Miss D. Ross, turquoise blue velvet; Miss F. Pickering, shell pink georgette and silver lace: Miss G. Jones, daffodil crepe de chine, uneven hem: Miss V. McCarthny, rose georgette frock; Miss S. Moir, daffodil and green crepe de chine; Miss R. Crawford, blue satin and silver lace; Miss Roie Crawford, cyclamen satin; Miss J. Collier, powder blue shot taffeta; Miss M. Blutcher, silver lace and cyclamen frilled georgette; Miss D. Mumford, apple green georgette, with uneven hem; Miss A. Gallagher, daffodil crepe de chine; Miss Gates, gold lame and tulle. Miss D. Chant wore apple green georgette and silver; Miss I. Sayers, pink georgette and silver; Miss H. Martin, green georgette and diamente; Miss Crouch, ivory georgette; Miss M. Bradley, sea green georgette and diamente; Miss R. Levett, fuchsia taffeta; Miss M. "Wilson, cyclamen shot taffeta and silver; Miss G. Dell, green georgette and lame; Miss M. Grange, green georgette and taffeta.
