CONVERTED A BOAT
YOUTH WHO LOST JOB ! From Our Own Correspondent PUKEKOHE, Monday. I A 3*outh, aged 18 years, whose name j was suppressed, appeared in the Puke--5 kohe Police Gourt this evening before j Messrs. J. T. Stembridge and C. K. Lawrie, J.P.’s, charged with unlawfully converting a boat valued at £5 to his own use. Constable A. J. Maiden, of Tuakau, told the court that accused had been employed by a shipping company, and when his services had been dispensed with he rowed the boat to his home. When seen by the police, accused was ! quite frank. j The youtli was fined £l, ordered to j pay 14s costs, in addition to the cost iof conveying the boat back to its. owners.
